JASON BITTNER Confirms SLIPKNOT's JORDISON Was Approached To Fill In For ANTHRAX's BENANTE
January 26, 2006SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner has confirmed that ANTHRAX initially approached SLIPKNOT's Joey Jordison to fill in for Charlie Benante at the band's recent California shows before Bittner finally agreed to step in and do the dates himself (as first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET).
Bittner joined ANTHRAX for headlining performances in San Francisco (Jan. 20) and Hollywood (Jan. 21) after regular ANTHRAX skinsman Charlie Benante was forced to leave the tour early to attend to his wife Sandra, who gave birth to the couple's first child, Mia Charley Benante, on Jan. 19.
Commented Bittner: "Charlie called me first [to see if I woud be available to do the shows], but my phone was off (I was sleeping) so they called Joey because they couldn't get through to me. But then Scott [Ian, ANTHRAX guitarist] got ahold of me later that morning."
